Kevin Dutton, a research psychologist at Oxford University, has identified the jobs that are most and least likely to be held by psychopathic people.
According to his data, you might want to avoid CEOs! Lawyers and entertainers are also more psychopathic than the average person. Chefs can be pretty scary too, although they’re “only” 9th on the list of most psychopathic professionals.
Definition of “Psychopathy”
Psychopathy is not an entry in DSM 5, the latest diagnostic manual used in psychology. In mainstream psychology though, psychopathy is a personality disorder that’s characterized by shallow emotions (especially reduced fear), a lack of empathy, self-centeredness, impulsivity, irresponsibility, a lack of guilt, manipulativeness, and other anti-social behaviors.
